Since the summer is almost upon us I thought you all might enjoy this website that lets people with GPS units upload the hikes and trips they have enjoyed.

Here is one I did last year.

The photo slide show can be switched to an animated line if you click on the slideshow and then click on the graph icon. It is based on the time information and elevation information that the gps records. We climbed from 600 to 3600 feet and then back again in a little over 10.5 hours. We planted 3 geocaches on the way and had a 1.5 hour lunch break at the peak. We carry about 15kg of equipment, food and water on all out trips.
